A DAY TO REMEMBER
This is our 121st celebration
of Independence Day. The day our country was free from the Spanish colonialism.
The day our first president, Emilio Aguinaldo, waved our Philippine flag in
Kawit, Cavite for the first time.
The flag has also a meaning. There are
three colors of the flag, white that means cleanliness, red that means war, and
blue that means peace. Also when the color blue is on top, it means there is
peace, when the color red is on top, it means there will be war.
We celebrate Independence Day to show our
respect to our fallen heroes. At school, we bring flaglets and we put them in
our classrooms and in other places of the school.
June 12, 1898 is a day to remember.
Because of the braveness of our heroes, we became free. They were the ones who
fought for our freedom. Without them, maybe we would still be on the Spanish
colonialism.
