PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE

Image
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council(NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) holds the activity of the National Disaster Resilience Month.      DOST is in-charge of disaster prevention and mitigation while the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) is on top of disaster rehabilitation and recovery. DSWD is tasked to oversee disaster response while the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) takes charge of disaster preparedness.      A natural disaster can occur at any time. Some disasters give a warning, such as a storm preceding a flood. Others, such as earthquakes, give little or no warning. Once a disaster happens, the time to prepare is gone.      The best way to cope with natural disasters is to prepare by planning before it strikes. People may be injured or killed, or may lose their homes and valuable possessions be...

PREPARING FOR EARTHQUAKES

Image
To be prepared for an earthquake or any hazardous events, The Department of Education, Office of Civil Defense and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council implemented NSED or the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.      The NDRRMC first proposed this and the DepEd and OCD supported this and NSED started in February 21,2019. Different cities and provinces from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao are going to participate in this said program.      They implemented this program to be prepared and so that they will know what to do. Just like the basic steps, Duck, Cover, and Hold.      This program is very important because, when an actual quake happens, responders from different agencies will be doing their respective role and they should be ready and knowledgeable of their responsibilities to avoid problems and to immediately respond to those who were injur...

A LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES

Image
June 14,2019 The Honorable Rodrigo Duterte President Philippines Dear President Rodrigo Duterte,      Good day! I would like to thank you, as there have been many changes, improvements and progress during your administration.      Just like the clean-up of Boracay and Manila Bay. Before, there were many trashes everywhere, it was very dirty and can’t even appreciate the view. But now, we can appreciate the beauty of the Boracay and especially Manila Bay.      Also the war on drugs, you were still mayor of Davao, you made it a drug-free city. That’s why people voted for you because they have faith in you, they know that you can make our country a better place.      Thank you Mr. President for all your hard work. I will continue to support all your work. Sincerely Yours, Angel Zen Quitevis Source: https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&source=images&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwiinp...

A DAY TO REMEMBER

Image
This is our 121 st celebration of Independence Day. The day our country was free from the Spanish colonialism. The day our first president, Emilio Aguinaldo, waved our Philippine flag in Kawit, Cavite for the first time.      The flag has also a meaning. There are three colors of the flag, white that means cleanliness, red that means war, and blue that means peace. Also when the color blue is on top, it means there is peace, when the color red is on top, it means there will be war.      We celebrate Independence Day to show our respect to our fallen heroes. At school, we bring flaglets and we put them in our classrooms and in other places of the school.      June 12, 1898 is a day to remember. Because of the braveness of our heroes, we became free. They were the ones who fought for our freedom. Without them, maybe we would still be on the Spanish colonialism. Source: https://www.google.com/url?...

I am Angel Zen Quitevis, 15 years old and I am a special math class student from Ilocos Sur National High School. I like playing online games and reading books.  I’m just a simple girl but I also have sides that you don’t want to meet. I am friendly but I can also be your enemy. There’s a demon living inside my body. Keep calm, I won’t hurt you. Source: https://images.app.goo.gl/E7japv8t2xtNTp1V6
