ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

Image
Environmental awareness  means being aware of the natural  environment  and making choices that benefit the earth, rather than hurt it. Some of the ways to practice  environmental awareness  include: using safe and non-toxic building supplies, conserving energy and water, recycling, activism, and others. November is Environmental Awareness Month by virtue of Republic Act No. 9512 signed on Dec. 12, 2008. The law says the promotion of national awareness on the role of natural resources in economic growth and the importance of environmental conservation shall be done through environmental education. Environmental awareness  proves  important  for several reasons; it fosters a sense of connection to the natural world, promotes sustainable development and encourages conservation of irreplaceable natural resources and vulnerable plant and animal species. VALUES

Image
For this year, the theme of the FVM celebration is “Pamilyang Pilipino Patatagin: Susi sa Paghubog ng Kabataang Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makakakalikasan at Makabansa” which “emphasizes the importance and critical role of the family in strengthening Filipino values and developing individuals who are pro-God, pro-people, pro-country, and pro-nature especially in this digital age.” Our values are important because they help us to grow and develop. They help us to create the future we want to experience. Every individual and every organisation is involved in making hundreds of decisions every day. The decisions we make are a reflection of our values and beliefs, and they are always directed towards a specific purpose. That purpose is the satisfaction of our individual or collective (organisational) needs. With the theme, “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan,” this year’s celebration of the NCM is made extra special as it coincides with the 30th Anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC). DepEd also noted that the summit aims to “celebrate the successes in upholding the rights of the child and identify the challenges in their realization to help address them with a whole-of-society approach, in...

UN MONTH CELEBRATION

Language is pivotal in the areas of human rights protection, good governance, peace building, reconciliation, and sustainable development. It is through language that we communicate with the world, define our identity, express our history and culture, learn, defend our human rights and participate in all aspects of society.  Through language, people preserve their community’s history, customs and traditions, memory, unique modes of thinking, meaning and expression.     They also use it to construct their future. Languages play a crucial role in the daily lives of people, not only as a tool for communication, education, social integration and development, but as a repository for each person's unique identity, cultural history, traditions, and memory. But despite their immense value, languages around the world continue to disappear at an alarming rate.  SOURCE: https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fupload.wikimedia.org%2Fwikipedia%2Fen%2F8...
